All clients that were not upgraded and still running RU5 did not have any problem. Now 2 days later everything looks fine. No slow computers anymore. Maybe it is because i disabled all the Application and Device policies. I also disabled the truscan proactive threat scans scan for trojans and worms and scan for keyloggers and set its interval to the max 7 days.

Of course i have been reading the document ID but did not know what to do with it. We have a support contract so then I opened a support case at symantec. The suggestion I got untill now is to uninstall PTP on all clients.

If that's fine with you then you can do it. Personally, I wouldn't want to do it but if it's causing a big issue then you may have no choice.

If possible, try to determine what process is causing PTP to constantly scan. You can use Process Explorer to view a list of processes to see what's running and as well as what new processes are starting and being scanned by PTP. I believe the default is 1 hour. You can adjust this as needed. Maybe try 4 hours.

Also, check your exceptions for PTP to see what processes are in there. They slow down the whole system and also cause. This occurs because they modify the registry which is very important in the proper functioning of processes.
