Eventually, group fitness classes will resume, once the coronavirus-related ban on those activities have lifted. And while the former facility was known in part for its tennis offerings, the Hogebooms will do away with the tennis courts, replacing them with five full-court basketball courts, six volleyball courts, 14 pickleball courts, and a golf simulator. The facility will eventually be able to host events and tournaments for youth sports, Hogeboom said. Youngsters looking to take their sports training to the next level — to prepare for travel team try-outs, say, or to wow college recruiters — will be able to work with trainers on individual sports, as well as on cross-training.

Families are already beginning to sign up for youth programming, and the gym will be ready for them by December, Hogeboom said. Safety measures against COVID are in effect, such as social distancing and mask requirements, he added. Costs are not yet entirely worked out for youth programming, he said, but the goal is to have a scholarship program for people who might not normally be able to access this kind of programming.
